2010 diving season

The weather outside is far from frightful, and it has brought out the divers. We look forward to another successful, fun and safe diving season. We will of course, be doing local diving, weekly at Centennial Beach and weekend excursions throughout the summer. Trips to Sherkston Shores campground in May and June as well as a few trips to Tobermory, at which times we will be certifying new basic students as well as having advanced courses.

Please stay tuned for the summer schedule.

And for those that like to travel in the fall, we will be heading up trip south.

We look forward to seeing some familiar faces as the diving season approaches.

Curacao trip

Well it's been awhile since we have written on the blog. Sorry to those that check on a more regular basis than I. We had a wonderful time in Curacao, the diving was really neat there. Saw lots of fish and the reef was great right off of the resort that we stayed at. With our group of 83, there was always a familiar face whether at the restaurants, diving, or laying by the pool. We were successful with our training by certifying 3 basic students, 3 rescue students and 13 advanced. To all of you...Congratulations! We are proud of you and all of the divers on our trip. We have had nothing but positive comments about our training and the students we produce.

Winter has arrived

Time for Christmas shopping and planning ice diving and some indoor courses....

The Ice Diving Course will be posted for either the last week in February or First week in March - stay posted
The next DAN 02 Provider Course is coming in April.
Padi Rescue course set for February 7 - March 10.

Basic Courses are run all year round. Next one is Thursday nights in January, tentatively to start on the 7th.
The next full weekend program is January 8,9,10. Spots available for both courses.

last wednesday dive

Our last Wednesday dive of the season, was at Shelswell Park, we haven't been there all season. Visiblity a little better than what the Morrison has had to offer the past few weeks, but alas as the days get darker faster, our dive nearly turned into a night dive. Thanks to the few that came out, it's always a fun night out.

We will be going to Tobermory for the last time this year on September 26/27 weekend to finish up with the open water dives from our last few classes, also we will be doing an Advanced course. There is still a couple of spots available.

We have also posted our 4th annual pumpkin dive at Shelwell Park for Sunday October 25, 2009. Bring your own pumpkin, $10. to register and a prize to be won for all that register. More info available on the calendar and on facebook.

Then we will look forward to out winter dive trip in Curacao, in February 2010.

DIVING SEASON IS HERE

So as the days get longer and warmer, we look forward to another successful dive season. In addition to our Wednesday dives at the Barrie waterfront, we will also be diving at Cedar Point, Craigleith Provincial park and a couple of weekends at Tobermory. Please give us a call if you wish to join us. Aside from your own travel, accomodation and food expense, your cost by is only for gear rental.

We are also booking our 7th annual winter group trip. This year it's CURACAO! Depart February 7 - 14. $1399 plus tax $138.

More info available, please give us a call. Superclubs Breezes - All Inclusive (food, drink, air, hotel, transfers) and one shore dive per day too, for certififed divers 14 and older! Resort offers a casino, trapeze, rock climbing wall, ine rink, restaurants, and disco.

It is mandatory that all students, and strongly recommended that any certified divers, travelling outside of Canada obtain medical insurance like DAN or similar Diver accident coverage. There is no coverage provided by Tim's Diving Supplies Ltd.

Pumpkin Dive

We had a great turnout for our 3rd annual pumpkin dive at Shelswell Park. The weather cloudy and the water was a bit choppy, but 18 buddy teams came to compete for best underwater pumpkin carving.

We also had winners for best costume and unfortunately the worst pumpkin carving too.

Thank you to our distributors for some of the prizes.

We met afterwards at MooseWinooskis for lunch and overall this was a great day. Many thanks to Jason for organizing this event. Look forward to next year.

Well, we successfully completed open water checkouts in Tobermory this past weekend, for the last time in 2008. Thank you to those that come out to help and have some fun at the same time. We have a great group of people, who go the extra mile, and we are grateful to have you all as part of our team!

Unfortunately the windy weather on Sunday did not allow our Advanced students to do the boat dive charter...

Well, we've had better weather....but we went up there to dive and that's what we did. Luckily the rain held off for the most part while we were diving with some welcomed sunny breaks. All the students that participated, sucessfully completed their open water training. Congratulations!

It was a little cold 'round the fire even, but overall a great weekend. Thanks again to all those special people that come out to help and maintain a level of safety for everyone involved.

Well the weather held out for us once again...a little rain, but that's ok. As always a fun night out, some out for their first dive as a newly certified divers and a few starting out on their open water test dives.

Thanks to the recent transport of the grate, doing skills with new students makes it a lot easier as not having to stand on the bottom and stir up the silt. Thanks to those that helped to make this happen.

Another successful dive, great weather and a better visibility. It was fun to go somewhere different, though the depth was recorded between 24 and 38 feet. Not much to see, but on the surface we had some wild life appearances - ducks and a beaver (we think).

Congratulations to those who finished up their test dives last night, and thanks to those who came out for fun and to help.

Our first weekly local dive went great! Some students did their first open water dive and some completed their final one - congratulations! It was a fun night out and thanks again to all the helpers who voluteered their time.

Wow...this was an awesome weekend! The weather was great and everyone had a good time. We would like to thank everyone who contributed their time and efforts to this fun, successful weekend!

Thanks to the all those that took students and showed them an amazing time....to those who helped the shore control, as this job takes more than one person to keep everything running smooth and safe...to those doing gear check before entry and to the students who did fantastic in the cold water.

It was an asset having you all as members of our team and having students that were a pleasure to teach.
